Facebook.com has 1.8 million pages? how they created such a massive no ?

i checked the no of pages using yahoo site explorer it ends up with 1.8 million pages for face book





i wish to know that all





pages are created by them [or] created by visitors etc





or both explain pls?

Facebook pages are created by its users (members), who provide information and select links to include. Every user has a page; plus there are pages for discussions, photo sharing, friends lists, etc.





Like any free hosting or community site, Facebook has many "spammers" who create many hundreds or even thousands of accounts, and many of those 1.8 million pages have probably never been viewed by anyone (not even their automated-bot creators).





There are many, many sites with a million or more web pages; I have several affiliate sites that host more than a million separate product-related pages, generated using a software program (such as WebMerge) fed by a database (such as an affiliate datafeed).
